Recuva Data Recovery ("the App"), developed and published by Liso Apps ("we", "us", "our"), is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data we access, how we use it, and your rights regarding your information.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Data We DO NOT Collect:

• We do NOT collect your name, email, phone number, or any personal identifiers

• We do NOT upload, transmit, or store your files on any external server

• We do NOT track your location

• We do NOT sell any data to third parties

2.2 Data Accessed Locally (On-Device Only):

File Metadata: File names, sizes, types, paths, and modification dates — accessed during scanning to identify recoverable, duplicate, or large files

Media Files: Photos, videos, audio, and documents on your device storage — accessed for recovery, organization, and duplicate detection

WhatsApp Status Media: Temporary status files from WhatsApp/WhatsApp Business directories — accessed for the Status Saver feature

Notification Content: Message text from messaging apps (WhatsApp, Telegram, etc.) — accessed only if you explicitly enable the Chat Recovery feature via Notification Listener permission

2.3 Data Collected by Third-Party Services:

The App may use the following third-party services that independently collect data:

Google Play Services: App update checks, crash reports, device compatibility

Google AdMob: Advertising delivery, ad measurement, fraud prevention, and ad personalization controls where available

Google Play Billing: Processing in-app subscriptions and purchase status through Google Play

Google Play In-App Updates: Version checking via Google Play Store APIs

These services are governed by Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy).

3. How We Use Your Data

All data processing occurs entirely on your device. We use accessed data solely for:

• Scanning your storage to find deleted or recoverable files

• Detecting and listing duplicate files for cleanup

• Identifying large files consuming storage space

• Organizing media files into categorized folders

• Saving WhatsApp statuses before they expire (24 hours)

• Recovering deleted chat messages via notification monitoring

• Displaying storage usage analytics

4. Permissions We Request

4.1 Storage Access (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE):

Required on Android 11+ to scan all storage areas for deleted/recoverable files. This is the core functionality of the App and cannot work without full storage access. We access files solely for scanning, recovery, and organization — never for uploading or sharing.

4.2 Media Permissions (READ_MEDIA_IMAGES/VIDEO/AUDIO):

Required on Android 13+ as a scoped alternative to broad storage access for media file scanning.

4.3 Notification Listener Access:

Required ONLY for the Chat Recovery feature. When enabled, the App reads incoming notification content from selected messaging apps to store message text locally for later recovery. This data is stored in a local database on your device and is NEVER transmitted externally. You can disable this at any time from Settings → Apps → Special Access → Notification Access.

4.4 Internet Permission:

Used for Google Play In-App Update checks, Google AdMob ads, Google Play Billing subscription status, and related Google service communication. Your personal files are not uploaded or transmitted by the App.

4.5 Notification Permission (POST_NOTIFICATIONS):

Used to alert you about new WhatsApp statuses, deleted media, and auto-save activity.

4.6 Advertising and Subscriptions:

The App may display ads through Google AdMob and may offer optional in-app subscriptions through Google Play Billing. Google may process identifiers, device information, purchase records, and ad interaction data according to Google's policies. Subscription purchase and payment information is handled by Google Play and is not stored by us on our own servers.

5. Data Storage & Retention

• All scanned file data is stored temporarily in device memory during active scanning sessions

• Recovered files are saved to your device's Downloads/RecuvaRecovered folder

• Chat recovery messages are stored in a local SQLite database on your device

• Status saver data is stored locally on your device

We do not maintain any server-side database of your data

• Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored App data (except recovered files saved to Downloads)

6. Data Sharing

We do NOT share, sell, rent, or trade any of your personal data with third parties. Since all processing is local, there is no data to share.

7. Data Security

• All file processing occurs locally on your device with no network transmission

• The local database uses Android's built-in app sandboxing for protection

• No cloud storage, remote servers, or external APIs are used for data processing

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Revoke permissions at any time through your device Settings

Delete locally stored data by clearing the App's data or uninstalling

Disable specific features (e.g., Chat Recovery, Status notifications) from the App's Settings screen

Request information about data practices by contacting us

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Changes will be posted within the App with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

11. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates.

This landing website is informational and does not require account creation. If you contact us by email, we will use your email address only to respond to your request. The website may be hosted on Netlify, and basic hosting logs may be processed by Netlify for security, abuse prevention, and service delivery.
